After Delgaudio was censured for abusing his position on the Board and ignoring the constituents of Sterling, the Board enacted an Ethics Ordinance to “hold more county government representatives criminally responsible for misusing county assets. Only Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling), the subject of the grand jury probe that originally identified the need for the legislation, voted against it.”

Delgaudio was censured by the Board of Supervisors after a lengthy grand jury investigation into his misconduct.

The grand jury found “… that Delgaudio directed his legislative aides “not to answer the phones or address constituent concerns and instead focus on other priorities.” The witnesses also reported incidents in the office involving “acts of verbal abuse that on multiple occasions brought his aides to tears” and led to their departures.

In one instance, a witness told the jury Delgaudio’s aides were told by their boss to report directly to an executive assistant of Public Advocate of the United States, a so-called conservative, nonprofit organization Delgaudio founded. Public Advocate has been designated an anti-gay “hate group””

Dimitri N. Kesari was indicted in August for obstruction of justice, conspiracy, causing false records to obstruct a contemplated investigation, causing the submission of false campaign expenditure reports to the Federal Election Commission, and engaging in a scheme to make false statements to the FEC.(Source)

Eugene Delgaudio sought legal funds for Kesari a month prior knowing that Kesari was under investigation for criminal misconduct.
